The Other Office at Baguio Country Club

When it comes to serene getaways in the heart of Baguio City, The Other Office at Baguio Country Club stands out as one of my personal favorites. This hidden gem, nestled in the lush landscapes of the Philippines’ summer capital, has earned its reputation for a multitude of reasons that make it my go-to spot for relaxation and unwinding.

What I think Distinguishes The Other Office from the Rest

First and foremost, what distinguishes The Other Office is the profound sense of quietude and intimacy that envelops the entire establishment. It’s no surprise that this venue is a top choice for both business discussions and romantic rendezvous. During the daytime, it transforms into a haven for those seeking a quiet coffee chat, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.

The ambiance at The Other Office is remarkably cozy. Picture yourself by a crackling fireplace, which the courteous staff will happily light up for you but with additional charges of course. Nestled on their generous sofas, you can bask in the warmth while admiring the tasteful interior design. The walls are composed of rugged stones and the finest pine wood, invoking a sense of rustic elegance. The lighting is perfectly calibrated to create a snug atmosphere, supplemented by an array of well-placed lamps. Unlike many contemporary cafes and restaurants, The Other Office’s furniture is crafted from real wood, bestowing a tactile pleasure that’s conspicuously absent in places with flimsy, plastic furnishings.

Being part of the Baguio Country Club’s domain, The Other Office shares in the club’s commitment to excellence. This is evident in the impeccably attired staff members, who epitomize professionalism. The design and furniture choices further reflect the same dedication to quality.

Convenience is another hallmark of The Other Office. Ample parking is available just outside the café, ensuring that patrons can arrive without hassle, whether they drive or opt for public transport.

Visiting The Other Office requires a deliberate journey, as it is removed from the city center. However, this is precisely what maintains its peaceful ambiance. Situated adjacent to the Baguio Country Club’s golf course, it caters to those seeking a tranquil escape rather than the bustling masses.

The café’s panoramic views are simply breathtaking, particularly from the balcony seating. Though golf courses might not be everyone’s cup of tea due to tree removal, The Other Office offers an alternative. Adjacent to the balcony is a vast open space adorned with lush trees, a result of necessary precautions for rogue golf balls. The balcony is my preferred spot because it offers a taste of fresh mountain air, carries the soothing scent of pine trees, and allows you to eavesdrop on the distant hum of lawn mowers.

The Other Office boasts an impressive menu. Their offerings include a variety of hot and cold beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The selection of food is diverse, encompassing pastas, club sandwiches, fried rice, salads, and more. Despite the exclusivity of the location and the establishment’s top-notch ambience, the prices remain quite reasonable.

For those seeking more than just a meal and a view, The Other Office features a billiards room, an excellent option for quality time with friends, family, or business associates. Here, you can while away the hours without a hint of boredom, indulging in meals, coffee, a game of billiards, a good book, or simply soaking in the scenic vistas.

If you’re in the mood for some live entertainment, The Other Office has you covered. On select days, particularly weekends, they host live bands that provide a range of musical genres, including jazz, love songs, blues, and more.

Furthermore, the location of The Other Office lends itself to leisurely strolls. If time permits, you can explore the area, either before or after your coffee or breakfast. There are also numerous popular restaurants nearby, making it a great idea to plan an itinerary for your visit to this delightful corner of Baguio.

How to Get to The Other Office and the Best Time to Visit the Place?

The Other Office is approximately a 20-minute taxi ride from the city center. You can also opt for jeepneys with routes to Mines View, Gibraltar, and Country Club. If the jeepney you board doesn’t pass right by the café, don’t fret, as it’s conveniently located on South Drive, within easy walking distance.

This place is a great destination at any time of the day, but my preferred time is typically during the brunch hours. This is because the air is fresh, it’s less crowded, and you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with available balcony seats for a better view.
